This is my dad Art Jackson.
He is now in the moderate stage of Alzheimer's disease.
For the past 3+ years his living conditions have been unthinkable. His physical condition has been described as gut-wrenching. People who had known him for years did not recognize him. He had not been able to see a doctor or take his medications and he had lost over 50 pounds.
Thankfully, after much hard work he has recently been removed from the harmful environment and now has access to food and water, clean living conditions, medical care and his doctor is happy with his huge improvement. Art's spirits are up and he is smiling and laughing again. He looks and acts 100% better than he did just 3 months ago.
The problem is, now that Art is being properly taken care of, he has bills coming in for medical attention, medication and daily care and he has no way to pay them. I have come to realize that he has been systematically over the past several years been put in the position to have zero access to his bank accounts, his land and his crops. For all intents and purposes, he has been left destitute. It is heart-breaking.
You never imagine that something like this will happen to your dad. He was a wonderful father, husband and friend. He loved making people laugh.

Art and Judy Jackson have touched hundreds of lives. I saw this firsthand at the memorial service for my mom Judy. I was overwhelmed by all the love and support shown to our family during that time. Through the years churches such as Ceres First Baptist, Valley Baptist in Modesto, and Central Valley Baptist in Manteca were a huge part of their lives. They pioneered church programs for kids, ran youth groups, put kids through college, employed church members on their ranches, housed visiting preachers, the list goes on and on.

HOW YOU CAN HELP
1. My hope and prayer is that people who knew Art and Judy Jackson will remember what wonderful people they were and now that Art isn't able to support himself will come forward to donate and be a blessing to him.

WHERE YOUR MONEY WILL GO
My dad has 3 specific medications that are over 100.00 each which will last for 2 weeks. Along with his other medications and medical supplies his pharmacy bill is just over 700.00 a month.
Art's housing, food, daily care and supervision is 2500.00 a month.
His medical insurance (Medicare) had been stopped so he has no medical insurance at this time. I have been told I have to wait until the enrollment period to get this reinstated which I plan to do.
My goal is to raise $6,000 in one month so he can pay this month's bills.
I am trying my best to honor my parents and make sure my dad's final years are spent in dignity, surrounded by people who love him.
Thank you, thank you so much for your prayers and anything you can do to help care for Art Jackson.
