Car for a well deserving Veteran!

I have a Veteran friend, who I can not say enough nice things about. He proudly served our country as a Marine. Now he is disabled and can no longer work. He's struggles with PTSD and through Christ has pulled himself out of it. He now helps other veterans who struggle with the same disorder. Through the many years I've know Jonnie I've seen a very humble man go through a lot. No matter how bad it gets, this man stays focused on the positive and is always thankful for what he has.
Just recently Jonnie was left without a vehicle. Even when he told me the bad news, he remained humble and greatful for what God has given him.
I have a relative who is willing to donate an older Dodge Durango to him. The only catch is it needs some minor mechanical work and new tires.
I'm trying to raise enough money for new tires and to buy the needed parts so I can install them myself. It would also be nice to have some extra cash to pay the tax, tag, and title, so I can surprise my dear friend with a mechanically sound vehicle with all expenses paid.
Any donations that go over the $1,500 goal will be given to Jonnie in the form of cash. What would be really cool is to see is a huge outpouring from everyone and we raise enough money to buy this Marine a newer, if not brand new vehicle. Regardless I know Jonnie will appreciate anything.
Remember this is supposed to be a surprise, If you personally know Jonnie, PLEASE DON'T let the cat out of the bag!
