On Monday night heavy rains hit Montecito. With the recent burn areas there were loads of mud and debris all through town. Luckily, our house, which we've lived in for 11 years now, is still standing and our family is safe. The roads are not expected to open for two weeks and power, water, and gas will be intermittent. As we have a dog we cannot evacuate to Santa Barbara City College. Our only option is a hotel. Evacuating during the Thomas fire cost us, and as my mother is the sole source of income for our family affording a hotel for two weeks is unmanageable. We are so greatful to be alive and well, and we hope that with your donations we can maintain a sense of normalcy until we can return home. If you can donate at all you have our deepest thanks and appreciation. We will use your donations to pay for a hotel, hopefully within Santa Barbara (if we can find one), and for food, clothing, and necessities for both us and our dog and fish.
