Nick - Warrior - CANCER FIGHTER!

UPDATE: Nick's surgery went well and he's on his second day in recovery. We will provide more information as it's available. Nick and his family sincerely appreciate all the kindness, love and prayers. THANK YOU SO MUCH! ❤❤❤ -------------- UPDATE:  Nick met with the oncologists at Anschutz Medical Campus - University of Colorado Cancer Center in Aurora.  Good news is that the cancer has not spread to any other parts of his body.  Bad news is it has been rapidly growing and is now the size of a golf ball located near his parotid salivary gland. He will undergo surgery this Thursday, Jan 17th for an estimated six-hours.  From there, they will do genomic testing on the removed tumor to determine what type of therapy will be needed to fight this aggressive cancer. We ask that you please keep Nick and his family in your thoughts and prayers.  On behalf of the Hancock family, I would like to express the extreme gratitude they feel for the generous monetary gifts everyone has provided.  The funds raised have already proved to be very helpful.  We are all so grateful for the generosity of friends, family and strangers.  Thank you so much! Billie =========================== Hello!  Being diagnosed with a serious illness like cancer is devastating, not only for the individual, but family, friends and loved ones feel the pain.  Like any life changing illness, cancer affects everything in your life and adding an overwhelming financial burden to an already stressed situation makes things even worse.  Bottom-line, it is truly sad how something as material as money can stop someone from getting the life-saving help they so desperately need.  Unfortunately, this is the situation Nick’s family is currently facing.  Days before Christmas, Nick was diagnosed with a rare high grade sarcoma cancer.  At this point, details of exactly what is happening to his body are uncertain; however, we do know that a trip to MD Anderson in Houston, Texas is urgent followed by necessary surgery and cancer treatments.    As many of you know, the Hancocks are very close and like with everything, they are tackling this battle together.  They are willing to sacrifice whatever it takes including financial hardship to save their son’s life.  After much research, Nick’s mom, Gina found MD Anderson to be one of the best clinics in the country to treat this rare cancer and knows this may be the only way to help their son.  Surgeons at MD Anderson are amongst the most skilled in the world, using the latest techniques to conquer this rare cancer.  Like all surgeries, sarcoma surgery is most successful when performed by a specialist with a great deal of experience in this particular procedure.  As a family friend, I am asking for a little help… I know there are millions of people in the world currently dealing with cancer and other serious illnesses so I hate to even ask, but it would be very helpful and much appreciated if you can find just a little extra to donate to Nick’s family. Anything helps including prayers.  Thanks in advance! As we are notified of Nick’s status, updates will be posted for all to view.    Thanks again.
