Pregnant with Cancer
Donation protected
Micheline Robichaud and her husband Jim Fletcher are expecting their first baby together as a couple. Unfortunately they have recently found out that she has cervical cancer that has spread to her lymph nodes. Her choice at the time was termination of the pregnancy and treatment or continuation of the pregnancy and alternate treatment. She chose the latter. She started chemotherapy at 26 weeks pregnant on October 21, 2016 (at levels science says will not effect the baby). She has also started taking steroids to strengthen the baby’s lungs since there will be an “interruption of pregnancy” at 32-33 weeks where the baby will be brought prematurely into this world so that Micheline can receive a radical hysterectomy and the proper chemotherapy/radiation that she needs. This treatment is 2 hours away from the family home, 5 days a week for up to 16 weeks. Micheline also has an older son with special needs that cannot be alone.
Among the current and continued lost wages of this fight, travel expenses and many other costs that have and will be incurred, they will also need to arrange care for her older son and their premature baby. There are many uncertainties and this page was created to help relieve at least a small porton of the financial burden of this ordeal so that they can focus on healing and growing strong.
Micheline belongs to various charitable boards and donates her time to advocating and volunteering to those in need and vulnerable in society. I just ask if you are able to, please donate to Micheline, someone who only wanted to give. Every small donation helps! If you are unable to donate, sharing on your social media is a gift in itself.
I will be updating this page with milestones along the way -there will be many, Micheline is a fighter and I expect nothing less from their baby Bowen.
Thank you for your support!
