Cami's Recovery ❤️

This campaign is for one of my best friend's daughter. I have been friends with Janel Ritzler for over 18 years and I would do anything for her and her children.  Right now her family is going through a very hard time.  Her daughter Cami has been very sick and is fighting a horrible battle with what is called Red Skin Syndrome (RSS) caused from Topical Steroid Withdrawal (TSW).  This is caused from using medically prescribed steroids both topically and orally.  Her doctor started her on her first dose of steroids eight years ago due to an allergic reaction.  Over years she has had to use steroids several times for health and skin issues.  This is the result that these medications have had on her skin and body.  Cami is now dealing with horrific problems due to the doctors prescribing her so many steroids and now has a very long recovery ahead of her.  She is in a great deal of pain. Her skin is very red, painful and swollen.  Her whole body burns, itches extremely bad and is 95% covered with this condition.  She has a really hard time sleeping and no longer has the energy to do anything that she loves to do.  She cannot dance, cannot go out with her friends, or do anything a child loves to do.  Cami has been spending 8-10 hours per day in the bathtub as water provides a little bit of relief from her skin's pain.  She cannot leave the house except for doctor appointments and even wearing clothes causes her a great deal of pain.

Janel kept searching for answers after Cami's skin was quickly escalating and getting worse this year.  Over 20 hospital and urgent care visits until she was finally disagnosed with the correct diagnosis on March 9th 2018.  Cami is now under the care of an amazing specialist in Los Angeles that specializes in RSS/TSW and she is currently seeing him weekly.  There isn't a doctor close to home that specializes in this specific health condition.  The doctor anticipates her recovery to take a minimum of 12 months.  She must go every week to be monitored very closely to make sure her body is safely handling the withdrawal process.  She currently is taking prescribed medications to help with pain and itching however she is still in a great amount of pain and miserable.  The only actual cure is the withdrawal process and time.  The weekly doctor appointments, medications and travel is very costly.  Cami is raised by a single mom with limited resources. Her mom is doing everything she can to help Cami with her recovery and be there with her through everything but all the cost are adding up.  Any help would be greatly appreciated for Cami and her family through this difficult time.  Any amount will help and the donations will go directly to Janel for the care of Cami to help her through her recovery.  I understand not everyone can donate but please pray for Cami's health and recovery as well as keeping her family in prayers.  This is breaking Janel to see her baby this way and needs prayer for strength through it all.  Thank you so much for your support and love for Cami ❤️ ❤️❤️
