Short story > I broke my camera and I need help replacing it. Photography is one of my creative passions that I love sharing and it helps pay the bills and keep a roof over my family. I do not have the funding to replace it and with our slow season approaching fast I can not even entertain the idea of more money out. I could use some help from our community
Long Story >
After a rainy day of errands and inside work I went down to the ocean for a walk to clear my mind and breath in the salty air. As usual I picked up some random trash and treasures along the way and carried it back to my car to take home to dispose. I keep several totes in my car that I keep in my car for beach collections like wet driftwood, balloons, plastics, beach glass. etc. After my trip to the beach I went to the grocery store and put my camera in the back of the car on top of the totes nestled in a small towel.
Did my shopping went home, unloaded the groceries & then grabbed my sweater jacket from the back of the car and the sleeve was caught in-between the stacked totes pulling everything out of the car crashing into the driveway. A few pieces of beach glass were broken but my beloved camera is trashed.
The enjoyment I get from being outside adventuring and treasure collecting with my camera at my side ready to grab memories of a mesmerizing sunrise, an egret striking a pose, an osprey with it's dinner, or my daughter & family out surfing is pure, true and makes me glow. It makes me proud to share them with such supportive responses from family, friends, clients , and social media followers.
I recently posted the story of my unfortunate event and asked if crowd funding would be appropriate to help replace my camera, here are a few comments
Mike M > " Glad your ok. The world reaps the benefits of your work and gospel. Camera was damaged while working for a cleaner ocean. I’d support the crowd fund idea"
Diana F > " Ughh - what a sucky thing to happen. Crowd funding would most def be appropriate "
Kathleen S. > " Carolyn Munaco all of us enjoy your photos everyday for free, you let us share them freely, I know we would all freely give to replace your camera. Hope your hand feels better, do you think your tetanus is up to date?"
Julie E L > Carolyn Munaco if you start a go fund me I will donate! Your work is beautiful and your commitment to making our world a better place is an inspiration.
Susan S > "Absolutely!! I’ll donate $200 - just tell me where to send the money! I love seeing your photos, and I appreciate all you do for the beaches & the town."
