What is CAM GIRL:

Cam Girl: By playwright Emily Swenson, it centers around Kelsey, a Cam Sex worker who works from her Central Florida bedroom, Kelsey sheds her clothes and fulfills fantasies for men around the world. On camera, she has no boundaries, but in reality she is incapable of leaving her apartment. Cam Girl boldly exposes the lives of three queer women navigating the sex industry and the bond they share as they attempt to overcome their addictions and mental illness.
This show is an audio and visual immersive experience that aims to synthesize elements of cinemetography, live stream performances, and live theater into one piece. Featuring an all Queer female & non-binary cast and an all Queer production team, this show attempts to bring together queer artists to make a stunning piece of live performance.
Performances will take place at the Elizabeth Kross Studio at 816 South 4th St, Philadelphia, PA.

Why we need Funding:

This will mark Theater Oblivion's first fully mounted production as an ensemble. As we embark on this new queer adventure we kindly ask for your monitary assistance to produce our new piece of work. We are a collection of artists spanning across multiple disciplines, who have come together to produce new and exciting works that highlight subjects and people who are often maligned by society. Although we are small, we have ambitious dreams, and we would appreciate any support.

Our overall production budget is 5,000, and we are hoping to raise 2,500 of that through crowd source funding. Not only will this money be used to cover the production costs, Oblivion firmly believes that artists should be paid for their hard work and dedication, so funding will be allocated to pay all artists involved and collaborating on the project. Your donations will be a way for you to support queer and female artists, as well as supporting an underepresented sex work community.
Our dedication to making theater affordable is also a primary reason your funding is so important! One ticket costs $15, or $10 to students and sex industry workers. Since each performance is meant to be an intimate and personal experience, each show can host 12 audience members. Unfortunately, ticket sales alone will not cover the costs that we need, which is why your donations are deeply appreciated.

Where does the money go:

- Lighting + video equipment + performance space + sound rentals + props + sets = $1,500
-Performers = $1,000
-Collaborators = $1,500
-Production Crew = $1,000
*A more detailed budget layout can be provided upon request.

Collaborators:
Elizabeth Cross Photography:
Elizabeth Kross, or Kreitschmann, is an artist living in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Recently graduated from University of the Arts '12 with her Bachelor of Fine Arts in Photography, she continues on in doing what she loves most; fashion-and-editorial photography. She has collaborated with us on photographing our promotional material and pictures used throughout the production.
The Bloom Paradox:
They are the makers of The Bloom Paradox, a 2person run Film Production Company. They are also the tricksters, the portal pointers, the subjects and the vessels. Mostly they are here to emphasize the balancing act of the opposites we all kind of do every day. These two amazing human beings have collaborated us to creat the visual cinematography throughout the piece.
