Please consider supporting me in my journey to the National Democratic Convention. I am deeply dedicated and hardworking and will be honored to represent those who voted for me while in Philadelphia as a delegate.
I started volunteering and organizing for Bernie back in 2015 because he was saying what I knew needed to be said but I never thought I would live to hear a Democratic Presidential candidate say. What resonates with me as a small business owner is that unfettered capitalism and the influence of wealth in campaigns is ruining our economy and our society, and Bernie Sanders’ policy proposals are the solution.
I was lucky enough to be able to volunteer full time for the 2 weeks Bernie's staff was in our state working to win our caucuses. I’d been working hard in preparation for our caucus for months and am honored to have been designated by staff as Bernie’s sub caucus chair for Boise / Ada County CD2. Driving in Bernie's motorcade in Idaho Falls and serving as a sub-caucus chair at the largest caucus in our nation’s history are two experiences I will never forget, but the friends I have made and the work that so many of us across the state have done together are much more rewarding.
When I started organizing in 2015, my goal was to get people active in the movement and give them the tools to make a difference and become leaders in the movement themselves. It warms my soul to see so many people around the state getting active in the revolution and stepping up to be grassroots leaders in their communities. The power of this movement and the deep beauty of people working together for a revolution humbles me. When 1500 Idahoans came together to March for Bernie I felt like the earth moved. I am overjoyed to have played a roll in Bernie’s success in Idaho and to have worked with you to make that happen. Congrats to everyone on 78%!!
I’m a bit of a wonk. I’ve been studying rules for months to make sure our delegation has every tool possible to be thoroughly prepared for our state convention. Already I was fortunate to win an argument with party officials at the caucus that allowed us to include many delegate ballots that would have been thrown out. I was recently surprised by the party naming me the Credentials Committee Chair, and have used the opportunity to fight for an inclusive convention. Several important decisions have been made by the committee which may affect you and I am proud of the relationships which I, as a long time unaffiliated voter, have built within the Democratic party and its staff.
Our delegation must arrive in Philadelphia with a strong plan and a sound strategy to ensure we make the most of this opportunity. I am determined to be a dedicated voice for Bernie and his platform at our National Convention, and I need your help to get me there. As both the Democratic Chairman of Idaho's Credentials Committee, and an unaffiliated voter I have a unique voice and ability to help counter those who will challenge the credentials of the many Delegates who are not registered Democrats at our National Convention. Voter suppression tactics of this kind cannot be allowed to succeed and I promise I am prepared to ensure Bernie delegates are fully credentialed and their votes counted!
