Caitlin's Tuition and Books!!
My name is Caitlin Daniels I am 19 years old and I am currently perusing my last 3 semesters of college to obtain a Bachelor of Arts with a major in biology and minor in chemistry at Austin College. While my main focus at school is more scientific to aid my preparation for medical school, I do greatly enjoy being apart of the Austin College A Cappella Choir directed by the amazing Dr. Wayne Crannell.
In 2015 I graduated from Richland Collegiate High School with my high school diploma and an Associate in Math and Science in the top 5% of my class. The following summer, I was awarded a stipend to participate in organic chemistry research at Texas A&M Commerce by the Research Experiences for Undergraduates (REU) National Science Foundation.
More recently I had the wonderful opportunity, provided by Austin College, to shadow an alumni of the school, Dr. Charles Phelps a radiologist for the Denison, TX area. Dr. Phelps showed me the importance of having humanity and the upmost respect for the patient as a whole (health, financial wellbeing, quality of life, longevity, etc.) when making a decision on how to treat the patient or in basic interactions with the individual. I hope to one day be able to be a successful doctor like Dr. Phelps is, to help those when they need it most whether it be to simply put a smile on their face or to ensure they receive the best medical care possible.
Throughout my life I have been heavily involved in music and theater, performing in local, national, and international shows and competitions. Some of my achievements include The Sound of Music the Broadway Asia Tour 2008 as Brigitta, National YoungArts Foundation winner for 2 years, 1st place for the National American Fine Arts Festival which gave me the opportunity of performing at Franz Lizt’s home in Weimar, Germany, and a winner for the 2015 Fort Worth Symphony Orchestra Young Artist Competition where I was honored and delighted to perform a solo operatic piece (Tornami A Vagheggiar from Alcina by G. F. Handel) as a part of a concert.

All donations go directly towards funding my education. This includes tuition for this semester and the cost of textbooks for my classes. After successfully making an A in Organic Chemistry, I am excited to further that knowledge in Biochemistry! I will also be studying Conservation & Restoration Ecology, the third semester of German, and the class I am most looking forward to, Genetics!
Having this extra financial help would mean a great deal to me as I have been abruptly cut off from my family (as of November 2016) and I now am left to provide for myself. While I have been able to be employed since January of this year to help with basic living expenses, unexpected costs such as an emergency wisdom teeth surgery and 2 aggressive infections that followed, the little savings I have made has dwindled. While I have been successful paying for my own health insurance, phone bill, and rent, without help I will not succeed at continuing my education. It would mean everything to me to continue on the path to my dream of becoming a doctor. If you can help me in any way, whether you make a $1 or $20 donation or even simply share my story with your friends, I would greatly appreciate the help! Thank you!
