Caitlin Williams Health Care Fund
Caitlin had her first neurological follow up since leaving the hospital. Her Neurologist, Dr. Levy, was happy with her progress. A major part of recovery from GBS is the regrowth of the Myelin covering on the nerves. Without it, the signals from the brain do not reach their destination, similar to wiring with the plastic coating stripped off. Medical research still has not discovered a way to improve or increase the speed at which myelin regrows, or determined what triggers or causes this type of attack by the immune system. The international symbol for GBS is the turtle, because recovery is simply a matter of rest...slow and steady. We are hopeful that estimates that she will make a full recovery by March/April of next year are accurate. Ricci Taylor and I appreciate your continued prayer and positive thoughts and are very grateful for the amazing support she has received from family, friends and the community. Cards can be sent to Caitlin Williams 3265 Polish Line Rd. Cheboygan MI 49721.
We are overjoyed to announce that after 27 days Caitlin was cleared for discharge at 12:29! She will begin intensive outpatient physical therapy on Monday. She still has a long difficult road ahead, 6 months to a year of healing, but she is very happy to be headed home. We are happy so many folks want to visit but PLEASE don't just stop by, contact Ricci to schedule a time as she needs to heal and has a busy PT and doctors appt. schedule, her immune system is also very weak. Caitlin has a special keyboard that allows her to text with her phone and use social media so message her if you like. Caitlin, Taylor, Ricci and I are so grateful to our family, friends and the community for the overwhelming love and support. Please continue to keep her in your thoughts and prayers. Thank you!
Day 25 in the hospital. Caitlin is making excellent progress. She is able to walk on her own short distances, which the doctors say is remarkable this soon after the initial attack. Still very little feeling in her mid section and her hands are still giving her some trouble. However we're told this is fairly normal for this stage. Blood pressure still a concern but seems to be getting better every day. Ricci and I ask for your continued prayer and are very grateful for the overwhelming love and support we have received.
This is a very common adverse reaction to a lot of vaccines, if she has had one in the past couple of months, please detox her from heavy metals and inform the doctor. Here's a link to all vaccine manufactures inserts. I pray she has a full healing..... http://www.immunize.org/fda/
Welcome home Caitlin. Hope you get well soon. Love you, Aunt Pat
We are so very happy that Caitlin is making progress. Be assured, Ricci, Ron, and all of your family, that there are LOTS of prayers being uttered daily to our heavenly Father, asking for Caitlin's healing. With God nothing is impossible. Jesus cares for her. Norma & Carl (Ben)
Caitlin, we are all right there along side of you as you take your baby steps. One step at a time, literally. Love you kid.
