CAFE Vancouver Year-end Fundraiser

Hi! I'm Phil Johnston, Branch Director of CAFE Vancouver. Established in 2014, the CAFE Vancouver branch sponsored over a dozen events in 2016 raising awareness of issues affecting men and boys – but we need your support to make 2017 the biggest year yet! ***DEADLINE: January 1st, 2017

"What would my donation go towards?"

Good question! Besides an exciting program of events (all of which we will continue to offer for FREE) your donation would go towards creating local resources for men, boys, and families such as:

1) a Legal Clinic staffed with volunteers, lawyers & counsellors who can offer guidance to men facing biases in the court system in areas such as custody, separation, etc.

2) Support groups of male victims of domestic violence (most people are unaware that half of intimate partner violence victims are men ... and there are virtually no resources for them).

Also – donations will allow us to work towards inviting special guests from outside of Vancouver such as Dr. Gad Saad, Dr. Christina Hoff Sommers, Documentary Filmmaker Cassie Jaye, Dr. Jordan Peterson, Dr. Roy F. Baumeister, and more.

Funds are also needed to cover basic expenses such as printing costs, advertising tools (reusable signage), and upgrading our audio/video equipment to create higher quality recordings of our events AND begin creating more local content on advocacy for men & boys.

Finally... your donations are much needed to continue to support student advocacy at local Universities! We're proud to sponsor AMB (advocacy for men & boys) clubs at the following Universities:

1) Simon Fraser University
2) University of the Fraser Valley
3) University of British Columbia (forthcoming)

We have plans to expand to BCIT, Kwantlen University and beyond!

"What kind of events do you have planned for 2017?"

Right now our plans include hosting events on:
1) biases in the media about men
2) parental alienation
3) workshop on self-representation in court for men
4) Circumcision II

and more will be announced as we near summer 2017.

"Does my money go directly to the local CAFE chapter?"

Yes! Every dollar you donate will go directly towards  advocacy and resource provision in Vancouver and the lower mainland area.
