Dear Democrats and Friends!

We invite you to help fund our work within the California Democratic Party (CDP) as we foster much-needed engagement and dialogue concerning Israel and Palestine, while cultivating a narrative of collaboration and engagement in response to the polarizing and divisive global Boycott, Divestment, and Sanctions (BDS) movement.

Who are we?
California Democrats for Peace and Justice is a grassroots coalition of  Democrats active within the CDP who support peace, justice, dignity, and sovereignty for Israelis and Palestinians through the framework of two states for two peoples.

A number of us are also Democratic State Central Committee delegates. As delegates we participate in the annual conventions, in caucuses, elect CDP officers, endorse candidates, help draft and vote on the official CDP platform, resolutions and more.

How will the money be used?
Our launch event is a luncheon program on Saturday, February 24, during the CDP Convention in San Diego. It is a program and panel of party leaders, activists, experts, and peacemakers 

We have raised $2,700 so far and we need to raise $6,500 more. This covers the costs of the Hilton Hotel meeting room, lunch for all attendees, speaker travel expenses, videographer, post-production, and ongoing outreach.

Why are we doing this?
The CDP can serve as a beacon for peace, justice, and understanding. Real leadership in this area requires the same innovative and progressive spirit that defines California Democrats. These polarizing times require understanding not demonization, participation not isolation, and earnest learning not damaging propaganda.

If the California Democratic Party is to remain true to its values, we must not give way to the one-sided bigotry inherent in the BDS movement. Together we will seize this moment and lay claim to our power of collective endeavor in building a constructive peace through engagement. Only by working to build real peace and justice on the ground, only by creating cooperative, sustainable, and generative solutions, and only by innovation and perseverance can a lasting peace be achieved.
