Help Keep Our Team On The Road!
We are opposed to the Dakota Access Pipeline!
We are located down river ( on the Yankton Sioux Reservation) of Standing Rock Reservation along the Missouri River so the fight to protect the water is our fight as well.

Our team of Water Protector is made up of staff & volunteers that work in our community radio station. We have been going back and forth to camp from the beginning to cover the news, to stand in solidarity, to participate with the other protectors and to help out with feeding the Yankton Sioux Camp. Our funds are exhausted so we need your help!

Now that the Dakota winter is coming in fast and many protectors have left camp due to the extreme cold nights we are having, we need to continue with our presence at the camp. Being from South Dakota we know what the harsh weather can bring. We need to keep our team on the road making those trips from Lake Andes to Standing Rock (321 miles each way). We need to purchase gas, heavy duty sleeping bags & extra blankets, insulated overalls, boots, gloves, hats, jackets, some tools for cutting wood, and food to keep feeding our tram. It’s a good thing the Elder on our team likes to cook over the campfire, as she makes a huge pot of soup & coffee for our team and anyone else that stops by.

We hope you have been following our Facebook pages (KDKO & Native American Women’s Health Education Resource Center) as we are posting news of camp and the extreme police actions. Our news coverage online and by radio has reached thousands of people around the world to keep them informed (since there has been little media coverage to speak of until this week with the arrest of Shailene Woodley, bless her).

This is a sacred prayer camp movement to save our sacred land and water and we must remain present and vigilant as the court cases move slowly in Washington DC.

Please give what you can to keep the Protectors warm and on Watch!

In Solidarity,

Charon Asetoyer

Over the weekend we did a presentation/slideshow concerning the female leadership on Standing Rock and the encampments, at the "Take Root" conference at OU in Norman, OK. We continue to bring awareness of the issues facing Standing Rock and the fossil fuel industry!
What started out as a few Native women grew into a movement of Millions! Always remember that! We can do this!
