THE END GOAL IS THAT THE PLAYERS WOULD ASK IT BE DONATED TO CHARITY!
We love our Royals and not only have the best team in baseball.. but the best FANS in baseball!
We're also in the 2nd smallest market in MLB, so the funds we have to keep our players is limited due in part to lower media contracts with Radio and TV. For example: The Red Sox, Yankees and Dodgers all get over $100 million a year from billing in their tv networks. The Royals get $20mil. There is no fault of the Royals or their broadcast partners, it's all based on the size of the market.
Now I know we have all spent plenty of money out at the park to help pay the salaries of our players... but let's just take the road games in the last two (2) playoff runs and think...
Did you get $10, $100, $1000 worth of enjoyment from this team..when you couldn't see them live?
My guess is yes, and this is a way to help show Alex Gordon and Ben Zobrist that KC fans are different.
All Money will be refunded if we do not hit the goal, minus any fees that pop up from gofundme (which I don't believe there are any)
This funding opportunity is set up to authorize donations, but not charge anyone a single $$ unless we hit the $1million goal!

I'm a fan of the team, a fan of Kansas City and of course a fan of these two (2) players. It's my expectation that neither player would accept the payments themselves, but rather have us give it to a charity.
When that happens we'll let the players pick their charities, if not, we'll do a vote by the people who donated the money.
