The Dorchester Vietnam Memorial Committee was appalled Thursday October 26th to discover that someone had vandalized the beloved memorial. Some of the damages include, more than 20 shrubs are shredded, the memorial statue defaced, and the flag of the United States cut down.
The memorial honors the 80 Dorchester men who made the ultimate sacrifice in the Vietnam War. This memorial has been maintained for over 30 years by the committee thanks to the donations received from our community supporters.

My name is Lisa Zinck, I am the founder of this GoFundMe page. My father, Joseph Zinck, is the President of the Dorchester Vietnam Memorial Committee.
Dorchester is the largest neighborhood of the City of Boston in Massachusetts. It is estimated that over 100,000 men from Massachusetts were deployed during the Vietnam War. Of these men, 80 from the Dorchester neighborhood served and died in Vietnam. The memorial, which is located near the University of Massachusetts at Boston, was established 33 years ago to honor these veterans and their legacy.
The money raised from this GoFundMe page will be sent directly to the Vietnam Memorial Committee's account and will pay for the memorial repairs. Any funds remaining will be used for future maintenance and upkeep so that the memorial will be place of remembrance and reflection for many years to come.
