"Pure and genuine religion in the sight of God the Father means caring for orphans and widows in their distress and refusing to let the world corrupt you." - James 1:27 (NLT)

Hello, my name is Kristia Greer.  I am the wife of Shannon Greer, pastor of RiverChurch in downtown Chattanooga.  I love being a mom, to our three biological daughters and one biological son.  I also love being "foster" mom, to children who aren't able to be with their mom,  like the baby girl who is also currently part of our family.   My heart is moved by James the Apostle when he says that caring for orphans and widows in their distress is very dear to the heart of God.  That's why I'm so excited to tell you about a very exciting opportunity that has been made available to my oldest daughter, Makenzie and myself.

We have been invited to participate in a short term mission trip to Haiti with a small group of other pastor's wives and daughters May14-19, 2016.

Our time will be spent primarily at an orphanage in Kenscoff, called Chances for Children caring for, interacting with, sharing the love of Jesus with babies and toddlers.  We will be providing relief to the overworked nannies of the orphanage who are severely outnumbered by the children living  on site.   We will spend time in physical therapy with children like Fabrice - a 9 year old who has cerebral palsy and speech delays.

We will also be working with older kids, after they return from school,  providing activities for them that reinforce what they are learning in school.  We will also have the chance to particpate in the Chances for Children feeding program in a remote village, we've heard that this will certainly be a highlight of our trip.

That Sunday we will worship with a local congregation, and we can hardly wait to experience worship with new brothers and sisters in an entirely different cultural setting.

We even have the opportunity to take a checked bag with donations that the orphanage needs most desperately, i.e. diapers, formula, clothing, school supplies, etc.

The total cost for both Makenzie and I to take this trip together will be $2500.

The first $1000 of this amount is due immediately as we are trying to secure flights.

Would you consider making a donation towards the cost of this Mother/Daughter Mission trip?  If so please help us as soon as possible, since our depature date will be here before you know it.

I believe caring for orphans is so dear to God's heart that He wants each of us to take some part in caring for these precious children who are otherwise alone in this world, were it not for organizations like Chances for Children.

Thank you for prayerfully considering how you can be part of this ministry endeavor.
