St John's Conrad Challenge

The Challenge
Six teams of St John’s students from years ten and eleven have been invited alongside eighty teams world-wide to the Kennedy Space Centre, Florida, USA as diplomats in the 2016 The Conrad Spirit of Innovation Challenge, an international science, engineering and entrepreneurship competition. http://www.conradchallenge.org/
The students will showcase their innovative solutions to real world problems in Aerospace and Aviation, Cyber Technology and Security, Energy and the Environment and Health and Nutrition.

Students have worked tirelessly over the past year developing and designing their innovative ideas completely on their own initiative. While they have risen to the occasion in terms of producing university level work, the next step of the challenge allows them to liaise with industry and scientific leaders overseas. Every dollar donated to this fund will help make that opportunity a reality.
A video summary of one team from St John’s idea is included below.

.How can you help these bright young innovators?
We now have our own challenge of transporting our teams to NASA, Florida for seven days in April 2016 where they will present their innovations and learn from industry professionals and other teams. While a small grant will be provided to the school from the Conrad Foundation as well as parental contributions, we are looking for support from the wider community.

It will cost approximately $3,000 per student to take the St John’s group to the USA and we are seeking to raise $5,000 through a crowd funding campaign to assist with the costs of sending the students.
