My comic friend Carlo Jose San Juan, or Caz, has graciously invited me to speak at this year’s KomiKon convention in Manila. I will be demonstrating Manga Studio, plus talking about my experiences as a webcomic creator. The convention is providing me a table at no cost so I may do sketches and sell my books. It is a great opportunity, and Caz is providing my room and board, I only need to buy a ticket for a round-trip flight to Manila. This is where YOU come in to this story.
The round-trip airline ticket costs roughly $1200.00. I also need to upgrade my passport for $100 and buy a new battery for my laptop, which is also roughly $100. The other $400 is to cover expenses that may pop up during my trip such as baggage fees or tips, as well as cover the fees charged by GoFundMe and WePay.
With my struggles with depression these past few years, my income has been nearly non-existent. But this year has been a rebuilding year for me and this trip will do wonders in promoting me.
