On May 15th Aaron Salazar was attacked on the train on his way back to school at Portland State University. This kind soul who has never hurt anyone, and has only spread positivity and love was beaten and left by the railroad for dead. He was taken to the hospital and is currently fighting for his life with multiple injuries including a multiple brain injuries, a broken pelvis, and severe burns on his thighs. Our family has come from across the nation to support him and are currently in need of aid to pay for living costs and Aaron's medical costs. Although we appreciate prayers as well any donations would be greatly appreciated. This young man does not deserve the horrible things that happened to him, but he is fighting for his life and needs our help and positive vibes.

Hello everyone,

It has been over one year since Aaron’s horrible attack, and so much has changed. First and foremost, Aaron has been thriving through his adversity, and although it is a tough road of recovery he is doing his best, and we are so proud of him. Even though the doctors initially said that he was not going to make it he has experienced Christmas, Thanksgiving, and his Birthday surrounded by his family. He is currently learning how to walk, and can now walk with the assistance of a walker. Every day he grows stronger, and eventually will be able to walk on his own completely.

He does not remember what happened on the train due to the trauma he endured, but has publicly, and privately said he knows from the bottom of his heart that he did not jump from the train. Unfortunately, the investigation is at a standstill until the day Aaron can remember that fateful day. But we are in no rush as we are just so happy to have our Hito back with us.

Lastly, I just want to say thank you to everyone who has kept up to date with Aaron’s story. He does see all the comments, and love everyone sends his way, and appreciates it. His journey is still ongoing, and is still a tough journey to trek on but you all have made it a little bit easier.

Hello Everyone.

I am posting this special update as it is almost three months since Aaron was found an an amazing development has happened...I am posting this update to confirm that Aaron has once again began to speak. I just spoke on him through Face time on his mom's phone, and he recognized me and said hello! We are very excited to share this with our Go Family. When asked about the train, he sadly cannot remember (which after speaking to the doctor said is normal due to a mix of both the injury, and his brain protecting him from the traumatic event, although with time, and therapy he might be able to remember things on his own.

I am sorry if this post isn't formatted as well as the usual updates but we wanted you all to hear this amazing news right away.

Thank you everyone for the support, as we now begin the second phase of Aaron's journey...Recovery.
We will continue to post updates!

Hello everyone,

It has been almost three months since Aaron was found.

I hope everyone has been well during our silence, we have some good news to share with everyone.

As always, lets start with Aaron's progress, Aaron has been doing much better, even though he has a long road ahead of him he has shown tremendous progress, for one he is no longer bed ridden, and is in a wheel chair. He also has been eating normal food, the other day he had Mac and Cheese (One of his favorites)!

Second, After a few weeks of negotiations with Aaron's insurance, and Craig hospital we are very happy to announce that he has been accepted, and Aaron is coming home to Colorado!

Lastly, We would like to take the time to thank everyone in the City of Reno/Truckee California area. Although this tragedy, shook our family to it's roots, your people's love, support, and solidarity has proven that love will always trump hate. The largest small city, also has the largest heart. Thank you everyone, we will make sure to keep in touch with the many new friends, and family we met here.

Although Aaron has a long road of therapy as he continues to heal, we pray you all will continue to follow our updates, and continue to spread the positive energy, and love as it is definitely working.

We love you all,

The Salazar Family
