Butch Lee PR Hurricane Fund

$32,185 of $100,000 goal

Raised by 196 people in 4 months
Hello friends and family. I am Butch Lee and I'm currently living in San Juan, Puerto Rico. I created this campaign to raise money for food, water, generators, inverters as well as other equipment for the hurricane relief in Puerto Rico as a result of Hurricane Maria.

My business, Sign A Rama, is located on one of the main streets in San Juan. One of my goals is to purchase a generator so that I can use my business location to provide resources such as food, water, and electricity to my community.

Your donations will be sent directly to my account and I will be personally responsible for using the money to purchase the necessities listed above.

Any donation is highly appreciated! Thank You!

Happy New Year. Your support have been very special and very much needed. I got lights in my business 12-22-17 and we got lights at home 1-6-18, four months since they went. Many people still do not have lights and it is sad to drive down the streets and still see darkness for blocks and blocks. There will be a cloud over the whole of Puerto Rico until all that is supposed to have electricity are connected. We are not there yet and we must continue to reach out to those that are in need of our help. This have been a very tough situation. Thanks again for all of your support and well wishes from the people of PR and especially the many that I've had a chance to touch.

Christmas season and the holidays are here. Our Puerto Rico is such a beautiful island with many beautiful people and the Hurricanes Irma and Maria have changed that. The island is less colorful because the trees don't have leaves and the debris still on the streets and roads. The people are anxious and with no lights and long lines everywhere, we have been turned inside out. We are trying to make a difference one family at a time and one day at a time and it's not easy. We are so blessed for the support we have received and the many helpers in and outside of Puerto Rico. There are so many great stories of appreciation and joy around that we are feeling less pain and less sense of urgency but the work is far from done. We are more than 90 days without lights and we see many businesses closed and operating with small generators trying to keep their heads above water. A lot of help goes to the poorest of us but who helps the shop owners and the small businesses that are trying to help themselves and their employees ?
Employees at one of our local restaurants that operating with a generator to keep running the business.

People have left the island but the ones that have stayed are still struggling. Businesses have not opened and the ones that have, are finding it very expensive to do there work without electricity. We are going on three month now. Crazy. Hoping this situation ends very soon. We are so thankful for our supporters and it's good to know that so many people are thinking of us.
The mother in this will use her light package to wirk her asthma machine and maybe a fan and lamp as well.
