BURIAL COSTS - OUR BROTHER, JOHN

As a family, we'd like to thank everyone who's taken the time to come here and read and share in our story. It's a sad story, as end-stage cancer is, but we're so thankful for the love, light, and laughter that our brother was able to bring into our lives. We thank each and every person who's able to help us during this difficult time. We attempted to help John secure the necessary funds for his funeral costs, and after-care for his children and thought we had succeeded. At the 11th hour, he was declined, and it was too late. We're asking for help to bury our brother. As a family, we're not affluent or well off and we very much need all the help we can get. John was, and is, so loved by everyone who knew him. Every bit helps! Thanks again so much for taking the time.

This is our beloved brother, John (Eves) in the photo .  He was diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer in the mid to latter part of last year. He had been in awful pain for quite some time but lacked sufficient medical insurance to seek proper care. After much red tape, we were finally able to help John receive medical insurance and he was able to get the care he needed. Unfortunately, by the time he was diagnosed, the cancer had already spread into his bones. He began chemo  shortly thereafter but in actuality, it was too late. The cancer had ravaged his body.

John had lost 30 lbs. in a very short time. He was racked with pain throughout the days and nights with little relief- despite his pain meds. But despite his suffering, John still had a great sense of humour. (He prank called me only last week from his hospital bed. I loved it. :) He always tried to keep his chin up- no matter what- and in his last days, he was an inspiration to us all.

John passed on and went home to be with Jesus a few days ago- late Tuesday night. His funeral is scheduled for this Friday, but we'll  be collecting funds for a bit afterwards, understandably. I can't put into words how much we love this kid and I never thought we would need to ask for help in a Gofundme, but this platform is nothing short of a miracle for those who are unable to cover funeral costs for their loved ones. So again, thank you all SO much- whatever you can do- we appreciate.

Sidenote: Please feel free to share your comments and thoughts below. if you've lost a loved one to cancer, you're welcome to share your story too. All comments welcome!
