No Dreams Deferred (building)

$5,785 of $20,000 goal

Raised by 83 people in 12 months
No Dreams Deferred, Inc is a 501 (c)(3) nonprpofit, that since 2015 has been providing youth with opportunities to learn various Arts, Crafts, Stem, Music and Mentoring. To date, we have reached over 350 youth and we are committed to enriching the lives of the youth and providing resources that will be beneficial for development and growth.

We recently came across the opportunity to acquire a building in West Philadelphia. With the purchasing of this building, NDD will now have a permanent home to run our programs and create new ones, as well as starting an after school program that will focus on tutoring, music, crafts, creating arts, mentoring, computer resources and more. Unfortunately, we need to raise $10,000 in approximately two weeks to move forward with the financing of this building.  This is where your help is needed.  NDD is trying to make a difference in the lives of our youth. We need your help in order to do that. Please consider making a donation so that we can get this building.

Please note: If we are successful with purchasing this building, we have the following reward system.

Donations $25 or more: a NDD t-shirt

Donations $200 or more: name on the donation wall (engraved tag)

Donations $500 or more: all of the above plus a NDD engraved thank you plaque.

Donations $1,000 or more: all of the above plus you get a program named after you for a session/quarter. (i.e. John Doe Arts Class)

I am the founder and president of No Dreams Deferred, Inc., Chase Lamar Smith and I can speak for myself and everyone that is apart of this program that this resource is very much needed and your help is needed as well!

Now... more than ever before, the desire to obtain this building has become more of a priority. As mentioned before, our goal has increased based on the financing necessary, but... If I didn't know or understand my purpose before, it's more than clear to me now. Just recently, there was a shooting in my neighborhood and I was there to aid the young teen that was shot 5 times... Hello all... as the donations roll in, we are very excited about the support that we have received so far. We've successfully raised close to $2500 of our projected goal of $10k.

Update: (good/bad news).

First the bad: The financing of the original deal did not work out, so we have to go with a new lender and unfortunately they only finance a certain percentage of the asking price. So in order for us to purchase this building we now have to come up with more $. :-(

Good news: The seller has extended the period in which we have to come up with the additional funds for 45-60 days.

What can you do: Please help spread this initiative to friends/ family/ co-workers / organizations etc... Every donation helps out a lot, no matter what the amount is... Thank you!
