We are the Barrett family and we were blessed with four beautiful children ranging from three to twenty three. Our nine year old Robert (AKA Bugaman) suffers from severe Kidney and Bladder Disease along with several other severe health issues. We believe he came into our lives for a special reason and that is to help other families like ours that our in a similar situation. Robert’s and our Mission is a way for us to help other families that struggle like we do! Our family struggles everyday trying to get help with supplies, travel expenses, along with medicines and other items needed at times. We have come to find, that there isn’t a lot of help out there for families in our situation. We have been lucky to get some help from the Wayne County Children’s Fund and our church but other families haven’t been so lucky. We fall in this crack where he doesn’t qualify for certain grants or services because he’s doesn’t have a mental disability or have Cancer and a lot of other families run into the same problem. The system is severely broken! Sometimes we have to fight with the insurance company on a weekly basis or even daily basis to get his meds and catheter supplies. They say we need prior authorization which can take several days and, we can’t wait that long he would continue to get even worse. So we have to borrow money or sell whatever we have to get them, and they can range from a few dollars to a couple thousand! So we want to do something about that, by starting this nonprofit so we can raise awareness, and be an advocate to help point them where they can get help with certain items they need, along with funding to help other families who struggle every day. We are also looking for sponsors so I can travel all over this country where families are with sick children so I can use my artistic and carpentry skills to create happy healthy rooms for sick children. Some children when they return home spend a majority of their time in bed or in there room. I want to create a magical room for those children so when they do return from the hospital; they can enjoy a magical room like a fort, or a castle fit for a princess or anything they can dream of. These rooms will help in there healing process and energy up and give them a better quality of life. We want to make a change in this world of ours, “if someone can raise millions of dollars developing an App that does absolutely nothing for this world” than we believe that we can raise enough funds to help children and their families in this country that help other people around the world but forget about their own! So please pass this on and let’s make a difference in a families’ life!
