It is with a heavy heart that I am asking for your help. My father, Robert (Bob) Buczkowski, age 54, passed away on May 23rd.
He was diagnosed with Leukemia in 2014, struggled with Type-2 Diabetes and COPD.
He played as a defensive end for The University of Pittsburgh and graduated in 1986. He went on to play football in the NFL for the Los Angeles Raiders in 1986 and 1987, and then the Cleveland Browns in 1990 and the Cardinals in 1989.
These last few years have been especially tough for our family, as my father started experiencing severe memory loss and mild dementia - caused by the many concussions he sustained while playing football in the NFL. He has also needed to have many surgeries on his back, shoulders, feet and knees, which left him in a constant state of recovery, with limited ability to interact with me and my family.
My Grandmother and Grandfather, have been a tremendous support system for our family along the way. They have given everything they have to support our family through troubled times. It has been a very rough road, and now we are left to pick up the pieces....
As I am just about to graduate High School and go off to PITT myself, I am in no position to be able to handle the financial responsibilities that I am now faced with. Funeral costs (which are needed immediately), various home/car payments, credit cards, loans, other bills and basic household needs.
I am humbly asking for your help. Anything that can be spared will be greatly appreciated. No amount is too small.
