Support Independent Literature and Multicultural Voices!

We need your help to publish three books in a unique crime thriller series, The Brotherhood Chronicle by acclaimed independent author Tejas Desai ( http://tejas-desai.com)

Mr. Desai is the author of Good Americans (2013), the first book in The Human Tragedy series, as well as the founder and leader of The New Wei Literary Movement.

The Brotherhood Chronicle is an international crime trilogy set in New York City, Thailand, India and the American South. It starts off when Priya Mehta, a promising college student, jumps out of her dorm room to her death in New York City. As Niral Solanke, a down on his luck private investigator, looks into her demise, he is drawn into many different worlds--of high finance, Hindu religious organizations, the art community, strip clubs and ethnic criminal gangs. What follows is his journey and transformation--physical, vocational, mental, spiritual--as more mysteries are uncovered. We also follow the stories of many other multicultural characters--financiers, politicians, drug dealers, prostitutes, military generals, police officers, housewives--as they try to survive and make sense of the world they live in, informed and influenced by Hindu, Buddhist, Islamic, Christian and atheistic philosophy and thought.

This campaign is specifically geared to help finance the publication of the second edition of the first book, The Brotherhood . It was initially published in 2012 and is still available, but a new second edition will contain many additional features, including a preface by the author describing The Brotherhood's evolution, an introduction by another independent author regarding its interest to Queens, a detailed map of New York City, a list of characters, an enhanced Glossary of Hindu Terms, a study guide, trivia questions and a peek at the upcoming second volume, The Run and Hide.

The book needs copyediting, proofreading, cover design, formatting and publicity, among other things. During the first three months of the campaign, we hope to raise funds for these things and begin implementation, which we will then be accelerated during the following three month run up to publication.

The planned publication of the entire series is as follows:

September 16, 2018: The Brotherhood, Second Edition
September 16, 2019: The Run and Hide
September 16, 2020: The Dance Towards Death

Please donate as much as you would like and remember you are supporting dynamic, independent literature and publication. We hope to have your support!

Hello Everyone,

I want to update everyone on the progress of the fundraising campaign for The Brotherhood Chronicle and make a final push for donations before the publicity drive. We've raised over $1200 so far, enough to pay for the copyedit of the first book's second edition (already done), the cover design (in process) and the proofread (to be done soon), and some miscellaneous expenses.

Without extra funding what we'll have to skimp on is formatting (probably DIY) and publicity (including reviews), which would have been the majority of expense and could gain the series more press and traction. Also remember the $3,000 goal is just for the first book of the trilogy, it will cost even more, especially for copyediting and proofreading, for the second and third books. But with September 16th about three months away, I want to get a move onto the publishing process, and to be able to set up pre-orders on Amazon as soon as possible.

That said, from now until June 16th, I've set up a FB event page to try to accelerate donations. Please share the event with your friends if you can:

Either way, the Go Fund Me page will continue to be up even after June 16th and we'll continue to take rolling donations:

Thanks to everyone who has supported our campaign, I'm hoping this series will put a jolt into the literary world and that we can get more press and support with word of mouth as we continue to push to bring out this spectacular, thrilling, multicultural and multinational series in full. I'm leaving the fundraising portal open, your donations will continue to be received, appreciated, and put to good work well after June 16th.

Thank you very much, and I'll keep you updated!

6 week update for The Brotherhood Chronicle campaign where I once again explain the importance of the trilogy and the campaign. I'm grateful to everyone who has supported us so far, and working hard to get this great series out into the world. This is a dynamic, multicultural series that pushes the envelope and tells the stories of international characters of all races, religions, and points of view within a hypnotically engaging and skillfully told mystery thriller. We still need to raise about 2k by mid-June for the best chance at a successful pre-publication campaign and getting the second edition of the first volume into the hands of eager readers. Thanks again for everyone's support and please do spread the word!
An ever grateful,

Tejas Desai

The fundraising campaign for The Brotherhood Chronicle has lagged a bit--we are approaching the 6 week mark and have fallen short of the $1500 goal for half the campaign. I'm going to make an extra push soon, explaining the importance of the trilogy for multiculturalism and a bolder, more dynamic literature, and any support will be appreciated. Thank you!
