Legal Expenses for Brooke
Brooke Harrington, professor of sociology at the Copenhagen Business School, has been declared a criminal for sharing her research with the Danish parliament. By law, her university cannot assist her.
Using a work-visa law meant to prevent moonlighting to criminalize a professor sharing knowledge is, obviously, insane. A gross misapplication of law. But to make that argument, Professor Harrington needs representation.
This is a fund for friends, family, and admirers to contribute to her legal defense. Some details can be found here:
A lawyer with some knowledge of the ever-shifting Danish immigration laws is approximately $300/hour. The fines may be large.
Funds from this campaign will be withdrawn by a trusted friend of Brooke’s, Stephen Murphy, who is a compliance executive in the financial services industry. Stephen will keep the funds in a separate account for Brooke’s benefit in the United States, and pay the bills related to her case directly from that account.
