Britney was beautiful, creative, centered and mature for her age of 17years old. She was the eldest sibling in a family of four and was very responsible with balancing academics and chores. Her insightful wisdom would calm the worst of disagreements amoung her peers. Avid reader, enjoyed listening to KPop, playing with her pet dogs and quality time with her cousins were among her favorite pass times. Britney was loved by her family and friends in the US and in Nicaragua. Exciting future plans which included becoming a writer & perfecting her driving skills in her new white sedan was cut short by this tragic event.
On a hot afternoon in May 27th, the Baez family heading to the movies,
where at a red light on the Westparkway feeder to turn left on Dunvale, when rear ended at full force by a drunk driver. The impact was so intense that the vehicle was perpelled and slammed into the concrete medium. In a split of a second, Britney's life was taken from her lifeless body trapped in the metal wreckage for over 5 hours. Her father, Mario Baez who was in the drivers side, was taken to Memorial Hermann Hospital and is in critical condition. Unknowingly of his daughters death, in and out of consciences Mario is fighting to stay alive. Doctors are planning surgeries for what may be a battle to save his life. Little sister, Nicole is with a bruised body and broken arm and will need surgery. Her mother, Janina Baez stricken with a grieving heart suffered cuts and bruises bears the financial burden of funeral expenses while anxiously waiting on her husbands unforeseen condition.Britney Baez will forever be in our hearts and will be terribly missed. Family and friends are coming together in solidarity to aid this beautiful family during this time of mourning and hardship. We offer up our prayers for the Baez's & may Mario survive the surgery and the news. Contributions made will aid in funeral and hospital expenses. Funds will be needed as soon as possible to start making funeral arrengenmets.
