Everyone's favorite waiter, Sal, also known as Sokol Vokshi, has been deported to his home country of Albania.
Sal came to the US 24 years ago and has worked at the Golden Reef diner for those 24 years. He married a woman from Albania, and they have two children, ages 12 and 14.
Sal owns his house in Elmont, NY and has been trying to become an American for years. He was deported on 4/4/18. He wants to return to the USA and try to overcome his quest for citizenship, tend to his autistic daughter, and be with his family.
The money we are raising will go towards an attorney to help bring him back to his loved ones.
Sal is the guy we shared our meals with for years. We talk sports, politics, weather, and family. The money will be shared with Sal through Western Union or hopefully once he receives his Albanian passport he can engage in normal banking.
