Bring Whitney Alicia Stevens Home

$12,602 of $12,000 goal

Raised by 218 people in 11 months
Whitney was a very vivacious young woman, who loved her daughter, and her family.  She had Marley in 2012, and would put Marley in a little backpack (infant backpack), and go trekking through the Black Hills.  Whitney was on vacation in Peru with her friend, where they were hiking, when the ground under Whitney simply collapsed and Whitney died as a result.  It cost around 10,000.00 or more to get her remains back from Peru. Whitney was a mother, daughter, sister, granddaughter, aunt, soldier, and a friend to so many.    Little Marley is 4 years old, and we hope to raise funds for her future education, as well. There is also an account set up at Black Hills Federal Credit Union in Rapid City, SD for anyone who would rather send a check. Thank you for your kindness.  Address for Black Hills Federal Credit Union is P O Box 1420, Rapid City, SD 57709. Your donation would be to the Whitney Stevens Memorial Fund.  Whitney's remains are scheduled to be home this week.  Updated 3/14/2017

This is an alternative to BHFCU, if you need to use a credit card, this works well and is the only alternate site. Which ever way you choose to give, God bless you, lets get our little girl home.

Just a thought but you might want to contact: https://www.diversalertnetwork.org/ They might be able to help you find a less expensive way to bring her home. I carry the insurance when I travel. I know they have ways of getting people back to the states in this circumstance. They are really nice people and if you tell them a member for many years recommended giving them a call and inquiring the best and least expensive way to accomplish this they may help! My membership with DAN is under another last name so if you have trouble getting ahold of them just pm me. Best of wishes, A native South Dakotan

I am so thankful for this gofundme site. The outpouring of love and support has been truly incredible. Though gofundme keeps a small percentage in order to maintain their website, it has reached literally thousands of households and given people a chance to pay their respects and offer condolences. Whitney is to be honored for her service to our country and loved and respected for the beautiful human being that she was. To all of you who have so generously donated, prayed or offered words of comfort, may you be blessed. Ron and Carol Lancaster

Whitney was a ray of sunshine. She always had a beautiful bright smile and was such a lovely person every time we went into the bank. We were happy to have met her even though we had only gotten to know her for a brief amount of time. Our thoughts are with her friends, family and daughter, Marley. ❤
