Bring the GUPPY home!

Tax deductible

First the sonarsphere... then the World Trade Center tridents... and now the GUPPY.
Part of the museum's mission is to collect and exhibit America's steelmaking past, and this includes full-size steel products.  We now have a chance to bring the Guppy submersible to Coatesville... but need YOUR help to do so!

Built at Sun Shipbuilding and Dry Dock Company in Chester, PA, the GUPPY was made with steel from Lukens Steel Company in Coatesville. The submersible inspected oil rigs and supported divers conducting repairs on drilling equipment. Currently on display at the Independence Seaport Museum, the GUPPY is changing homes by coming to NISHM.  Now WE will be able to educate the public, from young students to seniors alike, on the importance of steel products like the GUPPY: how they were made and their impact on American history.

There is just one thing... we cannot bring the GUPPY home without your help! The submersible will be transported on Friday, February 23, so NOW is the time. Please help us by donating to bring the GUPPY home. Every donation, no matter how small or large, is GREATLY APPRECIATED and will support our educational efforts!
