Bring Street Beet to Vegan Street Fair in LA

Hi everyone! STREET BEET has come a long way since it all began and we are continuously overwhelmed by the support we receive. For those of you who don’t know, Street Beet is a 100% vegan pop-up based in Detroit, Michigan. The two of us (Nina Paletta and Meghan Shaw) quit our jobs in early 2018 to pursue this project, and unexpectedly, it caught on on very quickly. Throughout the year we kept busy with a stacked schedule of events, and today our pop-ups draw crowds we never could have imagined. It is an incredible feeling to have so many people enjoy what we are doing, and to be contributing to the growth of the plant-based food scene in Detroit. Our plans for the future are not limited. We are in the process of developing a fully vegan menu for a newly renovated bowling alley in Royal Oak, by the name of Bowlero Lanes & Lounge. To follow, we will be on a trajectory to opening a space of our own in Detroit. In the meantime, we plan to continue a steady program of rotating themes at our pop-ups and dedicating our time to improving our business overall.
With that said, Street Beet’s next big venture is a journey to LOS ANGELES where we will be driving out to participate as 1 of 200 vendors at the annual Vegan Street Fair in March. Vegan Street Fair is one of the largest vegan food festivals in the United States, drawing 30,000 attendees over the course of 2 days. Taking part in this festival will be a unique opportunity to get a taste of what some of the best vegan companies in the industry have to offer. Along with that, Street Beet will get to share a few of our heavy-hitter menu items with thousands of people on the other side of the country. With this experience, we will be able to broaden our perspective and raise the bar with what we aim to provide moving forward.
The expenses for the trip to VEGAN STREET FAIR are not cheap. Between travel, lodging, equipment, kitchen rental, vendor fees, licensing, insurance, staff, product, etc., we have already invested over $5,000. We expect that number to nearly double when all is said and done. Being a new small business, we do not have any backing or savings. Every step we’ve taken thus far has been from personal investment, and we are spread very thin. Our fans have been the most incredible supporters, and we are FOREVER GRATEFUL. At this time, we are asking for YOUR HELP in raising money to assist us in pulling off this massive endeavor.
