Bring Ferrous Flora to Burning Man

John and Shawna are getting married at Burning Man this August 2023. In the spirit of gifting, we have decided to build an art installation to display on Playa at Burning Man. Burning Man is our favorite place in the world and holds a special spot in our hearts and has gifted us inspiration and joy throughout the years. We felt it only right to return the favor by bringing this art piece for others to enjoy.

We plan to get married in front of the art piece and bring it back home filled with Buring Man vibes... and dust.

We decided to build a tree because John and Shawna both love nature and trees; in fact, we both have trees tattooed on us. The name Ferrous Flora represents the combination of two opposite elements, organic plant life and non-organic metal. We feel this represents our relationship, with Shawna being the whimsical creative and John being the strong mechanic.

This art piece stands 10 feet tall and is made entirely out of scrap metal and is designed and built by John and Shawna together.
