Bridgette Pumphrey Turner HHS1992

Our friend and classmate, Bridgette Pumphrey Turner, has been in the hospital since June 17. Her symptoms began with hives and a fever. She was treated for an allergic reaction in Oxford and sent home. Within 24 hours, she was not improving, so her husband, Preston, got her to Memphis. Within 72 hours of her first symptoms, her legs and arms began to show signs of discoloration  and she was in severe pain. She has been in ICU/step down units since.   The physicians are still working on an exact diagnosis.  On July 5, she was air-lifted to Vanderbilt. Her wounds are being treated similar to wounds from a severe burn.   She had surgery on July 12 to remove unhealthy tissue from her lower extremities and apply skin grafts. She will have several more surgeries as she continues to recover. Bridgette has a fourteen-year-old son, John Preston. This fund will allow her friends to get funds directly to Bridgette and her family  so that we can help cover immediate expenses that comes with extended hospital stays away from home. She is being so brave, and in true Bridgette manner is meeting this with a smile and positive outlook.  There will be a long recovery ahead but we believe she is receiving the very best care possible . One way we can help ease this transitional time is by blessing this fund with whatever you feel led to give. Let’s do as we were taught at Hernando High School and follow the golden rule. “Do unto others as you would have them do unto you” #bbstrong
Update 7/25/18. Since the creation of this fund Bridgette has undergone several skin graft surgeries and ultimately has experienced amputation of both feet, her left hand at the wrist and a portion of her right hand. She will undergo several more surgeries throughout this journey. Prosthetics will be utilized ASAP when appropriate healing has occurred. The focus now is to keep infection at bay and for Bridgette to work with her therapists to gain skills to navigate her new normal. This will be a long road...a costly road... Friends, family and strangers have been so generous in blessing this fund. Please continue to share her story. Please continue to bless this fund as you feel led and most of all please continue to pray for Bridgette and her family. Thank you for all you have done! ❤️
