Some workers in Little Rock, Arkansas saw a retail space come up for rent in the neighborhood and got the harebrained idea to cook, brew, and organize our ways out of a day job - owning all the fruits of our labor.  Fourteen cooks, artists, organizers, writers, and workers are pitching in on the bills; planning to build a worker owned and operated cafe, bakery, soda shop, and community arts center in Stifft Station.

We are about to start building the menu and testing our recipes this month - we'll update the gofundme with our menu, vendors, and offerings in the following weeks.

We're looking to our friends, families neighbors and fellow working folk to help us outfit the kitchen with the updates we need for cold cuts and dishes, so we can minimize plastic packaging.

$2,500 would go towards the purchase of
-a stainless steel 3-bin sink
-a handwashing station
-an inline grease trap
-a stainless steel processing table
-a panini grill
-$250 for dishes, baskets, and cloth.

Any additional funds would go towards building a patio space, furniture, renovations, and appliances.

We'll start move-in on the first of December and hopefully open up shop on the seventh.  If we could get our basins and worktables bought and ready to plumb in by December we can open with a full menu. We'll update y'all every week as we progress to opening day.

Well comrades, your donations have been received and we are just tickled red (pardon the pun) at your tremendous show of support in these last months. We cannot thank you enough for helping us to build a viable worker's cooperative in Little Rock, Arkansas that strives to bring true democracy to the workplace. We could not, and can not do this without YOU!

Currently, we are working on prepping our space at 2909 W. Markham and hope to be open completely by February, but will be hosting a few workshops toward the end of this month. These will be announced on our Facebook page! Last night was our first testing of a number of new menu items and it went extremely well - we can't wait for you to try them. Otherwise, we have big plans in the works for the inside of the shop that we are all sure you will love.

Please follow us on Facebook and Instagram for pictures and closer updates!
