We lost a kind and gentle soul on Wednesday, March 8th when Braxston Banks (ND '90) passed away suddenly.  He was a star running back at Notre Dame and played on the 1988 ND National Championship team.  More than anything, Braxston adored his three beautiful children-- Khabyl, Khorin and Storm.  In lieu of flowers, please show your love by contributing to a scholarship and education fund for his children.  In his absence, we embrace and lift up his kids and know that through them, his spirit lives on.  On behalf of his mother, Priscilla, and sister, Nicole, peace and blessings and thank you for your generosity.

Congratulations to Khabyl Banks who recently graduated from Coral Gables High School! Yay! She's on her way to college this fall. If you haven't had a chance to do so already, please make a contribution to the education fund for Braxston's 3 children. Peace and blessings and thank you in advance for your kindness.

Dear Friends,

Braxston's homegoing service on Saturday, March 18th was memorable and moving-- just the way he would have wanted it. His Notre Dame football teammates and former ND Coach George Stewart rallied around his kids to show their love and support. Patrick Terrell, George Streeter, Ricky Watters and Michael Stonebreaker-- all great Notre Dame men-- were there. Here are a few photos from that special day along with a photo of Braxston, his mother, Priscilla, and the children (Khabyl, Storm and Khorin).

The children are now 15, 16 and 17 so college and tuition bills are around the corner. Thank you to all who have contributed to the education fund for B's kids. Please encourage your friends to take a moment to make a special gift in memory of Braxston.

Pictured below: Coach George Stewart, Patrick Terrell, George Streeter, Storm Banks (Braxston's son), Ricky Watters and Michael Stonebreaker. As you might imagine, Storm plays football just like his dad. At 15, he is already 6'3". With a name like Storm Banks and his dad's athletic talent, he is destined for greatness!

In his final days, Braxston talked often about his dreams and aspirations for his three beautiful children, Khabyl, Storm and Khorine. Ensuring that they each went to college was something very important to B. The kids are all in high school now and his oldest, Khabyl, graduates this May so college is right around the corner. That's why I am reaching out again today to ask that you please make a gift to the children's education fund. Let's help ensure that Braxston's last wishes for the success and happiness of his children are fulfilled. Thanks to all who have contributed and please help spread the word. With gratitude, Lisa Marie Boykin

We have fond memories of Braxton as a two year-old when we were next door neighbors at the University of Kansas married-student apartments in 1970. We send love to Priscilla and to his beautiful family.

Sending my deepest Condolences. I was reading about a tribute to Braxton at Moreau High School and as a fellow Mariner wanted to contribute to his children's fund.

Didn't know Braxton personally, but certainly remember him from ND (Class of '88). Loved what Pat Terrell said, that as sad as he is about his passing, he can't help smiling thinking of Braxton. That's a great legacy for a great man.

I was privileged to have known Braxston at heart is heavy learning of his passing. Praying for God's blessings on his 3 beautiful children and family.
