Meet Brayden Marshall McCann! On February 14, 2016, Nick and Alyssa McCann officially became the parents of this 9lb 6oz Warrior; giving Parker Reece a lifetime pal who he would always be proud to call his baby brother, whether they be partners-in-crime or friends-in-battle.
Brayden is currently located at Texas Children's Hospital in Houston, and is stationed in a comfortable bed in the Heart Failure Unit of the Cardiovascular ICU, awaiting a new heart.
Just before turning two-months old, it was brought-to-light that Brayden was born with a Congenital Heart Defect (CHD). He was diagnosed with (1) Left Ventricular Non-Compaction Dilated Cardiomyopathy and (2) Atrial Septal Defect (ASD). Because of the risks involved with the different treatment/surgery options, it was decided that a heart transplant would be Brayden's best option for having a long, happy and healthy life.
This GoFundMe account was set up to help offset the extensive medical costs associated with receiving a heart transplant: the treatments leading up to and following the procedure, the years of recovery/follow ups, and the medications that will be given for the rest of his life to sustain a healthy heart.
Many have called and asked what they can do to help. We are asking family, friends, and those touched by Brayden's story, who are able, to donate to this account so that we can help alleviate some of this young family's new-and-unexpected financial burden.
The last thing we ask, and most important of all, is to please pray. Pray hard and pray for miracles:
