PANDAS=Pans Medical help for 7yrold

In January 2016 our 6 year old son Brandon developed tics.  The tics were so bad that he injured his jaw from his mouth movements.  It was a spiral downhill from there.  We got him to his ped and she said she believed it to be Pandas based off his ASO titers.   I had never heard of such a thing. She gave us some information to research it and it seemed this was exactly what we were going through.  Brandon was being homeschooled at this time because he could not handle a school situation. Some kids can be so mean these days to our little ones. After 6 months of antibiotics things seemed to calm down so we decided we would enroll him in a private school.  Once school started in August everything came back double.  Tics, manic, anger, pulling hair out, sleep issues, he was being bullied again, etc.  We are still battling this and trying to get help for him.  It is so disappointing that insurance will not cover his care.  We have nothing left because insurance won't pay. As a parent this is your worst nightmare.  What can I do to get my child better?  It makes me sick to my stomach that we are forced to pay everything out of poclet.   I am also on FMLA leave from my fulltime job to take care of my son and myself as we try to get through this. Each doctor bill just for office visit is $650.00.  We are getting ready for our 3rd doctor visit.  We have to travel to Illinois for his treatments which range from 1 to 2 days so we have to stay in a hotel which usually runs about $170.00.  His IVIG treatments are $8831.00 for the surgical center in IL and $2500.00 for the specialist/doctor.    We've borrowed money, maxed any credit cards, took any hardships we could.   A parent should never have to be in this situation to provide care for their child.  I have worked as a business analyst for many years and have always paid for healthcare coverage only to find when I need care for my child they won't cover.   This is Anthem Blue Cross Blue Sheild of Georgia.  We plan to file a suit against Anthem because we are tired of this.  We are still facing more treatment and out of pocket expenses for travel, medicines and doctor visits.  Anything can help us and Brandon.  Feel free to read more about pandas at http://www.pandasnetwork.org/ Thank you for taking the time to read this.  Please pray for us!
