___My Story___
Growing up in a single-parent home, as one of five children, I soon learned that in life, if I wanted something badly enough, I’d have to work hard for it.
The most influential figure in my life is my Grandfather, and he has had an impact on me from a very early age.
A keen Golfer himself, my Grandfather would often be out on the Saturday afternoon’s at Freshwater Bay Golf course when I visited.
My Grandfather told me that one day when I was old enough, I would understand the obsession and vowed to take me to the golf course.
True to his word, aged 9 I was taken by my Grandfather to the Freshwater Bay Golf course for what would conceive a lifelong infatuation with the sport. Within a matter of months, I was spending every waking minute on the fairways.
Ever supportive, my Grandfather would drop me off in the mornings, and collect me at dusk. Sometimes I would play 54 holes a day!
Owning the only car in the family, on the days that my Grandfather was unable to take me, I would cycle or walk the five miles to the golf course with the clubs strapped to my back.
When I was 12 years old I won the Wee Wonders Hampshire division, then the South of England division qualifying me for the British finals where I finished 4th.
I won my first junior Hampshire tournament when I was 14.
This lead to me playing for my county and becoming the captain of the Hampshire junior squad.
When I turned 18 I decided to take my talents to the United States, where I felt I could progress while also getting myself a university degree.
My first break came with a golf scholarship at Morningside College, Iowa.
I quickly took a full-time job at a holiday park close to his home and saved every penny in order to support the move to the US.
One year later I said goodbye to my family and traveled 6000 miles away in pursuit of my dream.
In my first two years, I saw a lot of success. During my time at Morningside I became:
2 time NAIA Third Team All-American.
Broke record for Lowest scoring average 72.9
Most wins in a season (6)
Most career wins (6)
GPAC Conference Individual champion (first player to do so)
Not content with my achievements, I craved further and faster progress.
I moved to South Carolina in search of a year-round Golfing climate.
Aged 21, I attended the University of South Carolina Aiken, within 2 years I achieved the following:
2 Time NCAA First Team All American.
Individual conference champion first year
Voted player of the year
Won 2 tournaments
University record for lowest career scoring average 72.2 (64 rounds)
Lowest 18 hole score in history (64 -8)
I am set to be inducted into the Aiken University golf hall of fame.
I stayed on for a 3rd year in order to Graduate. In doing so I am proudly a first-generation university graduate.
In 2017 I took a huge leap toward making my dream become reality by turning ‘Pro’.
One year as a professional golfer has taught me a lot.
Though restricted by a limited budget, and not able to play as much as I so desperately wanted, the past year has seen unprecedented success, while living out the back of my car.
I drove an estimated 15,000 miles around the USA in 2017.
My first professional year saw:
10 top 10s
7 top 5s
2nd 4 Times
1 win
On January 3rd, 2018 I took part in the Latin America PGA Tour Qualifying school in Pilara, Argentina.
This alone cost me £5,500 including flights and hotel.
I gambled a large amount of my saving and it paid off, I finished 8th and I am now able to part in 10 events from March to June 2018.
The prize money is considerably larger, however, I just need to gain some funding for me to be able to take part.
I am now actively seeking sponsorship, donations, and investment which will help take my achievements from admirable to life-defining.
If you can help, this would mean the world to me!
Thank you for your time.
