Botched After Saving for 20 Years

HERE IS JANICE'S STORY
Hi! I’m Joanna another daughter of Janice. I was working with my sister samantha on the information for our mom since I was with her for most of it.

My mom began looking for a physician in early 2018 to have a tummy tuck that she had been dreaming and saving for. She went to a consultation with Dr. Halpren and decided to go with him due to his high ratings and the promise of the flat, beautiful stomach he hat she was hoping for. The price of the procedure was $7,800; which she had been saving for 20 years for, working two jobs. The procedure took place on Dec 20, 2018 and went on for about 5 hours.  In the recovery room he told me he took more skin than originally planned and that everything went perfectly. For the first few days she was in a lot of pain and needed assistance on getting up and walking around. A week after the procedure we went for her first follow up to have her drains and stitches removed.

When the bandages came off and my mom looked into the mirror her face turned completely pale for beautiful tummy tuck image that she was told she was going to get was far from the reality. Her stomach was tremendously swollen and the thin straight incision that was supposed to be just above her pubic line turned out to be a very wide incision in the shape of a w that went from hip bone to hip bone. She decided not to say anything at the time since it was only a week after the surgery and she kept hope that her money had paid for the promise that was given. The next follow up came 8 weeks later, and by that time the swelling had gone down but the scar still devastated her and when she walked she noticed that her stomach still had a jiggle to it, despite the fact that he took the extra skin. She brought up the scar and the jiggle to Dr. halpren in the follow up and he told her that her stomach would continue to go down and the scar was a result of him taking the extra skin

And that the only thing she could do was wait for it to fade down. She was devastated. She became depressed and felt defeated because the thing she worked so hard for was no where near what she dreamed of. She is now 8 months post surgery and her stomach looks as if she never had a tummy tuck. You can still grab a handful of skin from her abdomen and when she bends over her stomach hangs. The scar is what she is most upset and and only looks worse. She still has pain and discomfort, gained weight and is too embarrassed to show what she thought would make her happy. She can not afford to save for a revision due to her paying for my sisters tuition to go to school. If she mentioned one to Dr. Halpern it was immediately shut down with the excuse that her wanted results would come with time.

WHO IS RUNNING THIS CAMPAIGN:
My name is Tiffany also known as @myadventuretofit on Instagram. On February 2018, after losing almost 100 in 3 years, I went in for my tummy tuck to remove the excess skin after weight loss.

I had a recovery more tougher than anyone I've heard of with the same surgery and the surgery took double the time I was told. My surgery had been terribly botched and not only did I need a revision, I needed a completely NEW tummy tuck only 6 short months later. Both new surgeons I had talked to had both said they've never had to do this before. This is uncommon to have to not revise but re-do.

I am thankful for my followers on Instagram as they helped me raise money on a GoFundMe that one of my best friends created for me to receive a full SECOND tummy tuck which completely corrected the first surgeons awful job. With the communities help I want to help Janice and then other women who have been botched by Dr. Joshua Halpern in Tampa, Florida.

Janice is 1 out of 3 women who have come to me so far with their story. Any other funds raised above the goal with go to this women who have also been botched by this man.

If you can donate $1, $1 for every person who reads this will absolutely make a difference. If you can't donate, I beg you to please share.
