Our aim at Little Paws Orphan Rescue is to rescue abused and abandoned felines and provide a loving home while they undergo their vet work and rehabilitation before finding them a well matched loving home.
Bonnie is a 2 year old domestic short hair who was found living on the streets of Canley Vale by a concerned citizen. She was riddled with fleas, underweight, had one eye, had cat flu and was trying desperately to feed her family of six kittens.
Little Paws Orphan Rescue was contacted and she was quickly taken into foster care. Of course all her kittens were adopted but Bonnie was yet to find a home and was still quite sick. We killed her fleas, fed her up and gave her the love and attention her little soul deserved. Unfortunately after ten months in foster care bonnie was still showing signs of illness. She had failed her treatment trials with various medications and was sneezing constantly. She needed further work up.
We are very lucky her foster carer is a vet who has a job in an amazing veterinary clinic. With a team of specialists involved it was decided that she needed a scan of her head. Half way through the scan it became obvious why she was sneezing and not thriving as her kittens had. SHE HAD BEEN SHOT! Not once , not twice but three times. One bullet was in her non-visual eye, one was in her sinuses and the other was in her back muscles near her spine. Bonnie was very lucky to have survived this horrendous attack. Some one had been pretty keen to kill her and had shot her in the face.
The descion was made to surgically remove the bullets. To not turn our backs on her, and to help her. She underwent a four and a half hour anaesthetic and the two bullets near her brain were removed.
She is now in the ICU and recovering slowly. But we desperately need your help! Even though the surgery was heavily discounted we are still left with a $2300 bill to pay off! And we can't do it alone.
