Brett...Never not smiling, laughing, and uplifting those around him. He is always willing to lend a helping hand, whether it be a friend, loved one, or an animal in need. This man is a kind, warm soul that wears his heart on his sleeve.
Brett is no stranger to challenges, from losing his mother at the age of 5, to working multiple jobs while attending FSU, to years of running his own business and navigating life’s waters with his wife and two sons. Brett has always fought his way through with an unrelenting work ethic and an infectious sense of humor.
As hard as it is for someone that has always helped others, it is now Brett’s turn to receive a helping hand. Despite keeping himself in the best of health (he ran 3 Spartan races this year!) he was recently diagnosed with a rare blood cancer that will require a bone marrow transplant. This disease, myelodysplastic syndrome, is usually diagnosed in people over the age of 70...not in someone that just turned 50. This news has completely blindsided his family, especially his 16 year old son, Brady. The transplant process is long and grueling. He will be hospitalized for a minimum of 4 weeks. After being released he will need to live near the hospital for 60-70 days and not be left alone or drive for 100 days. A man that has worked hard his entire life will now be unable to provide for his family for potentially 6 months or longer. Needless to say the mental, physical, and financial strain is going to be immense. Please help Brett and his beautiful family manage this incredibly challenging time by donating to his care.
