On August 3rd, eight year old Bodhi was severely injured in an automobile accident.  Tragically his father, Gannon Rogers and the family dog, Kodi, were killed instantly.

Bodhi's bowel was perforated, his liver punctured, his left elbow broken, his right arm shattered & almost torn off, and he was bleeding internally when a good Samaritan found the wrecked car and contacted the police.  First responders did not expect Bodhi to survive the transport to the hospital.

After being medivaced out, and many hours of surgery, the surgeons were able to save Bodhi life. They did the best they could to save his right arm and it appears they were successful. His left arm was broken in three places and is in a cast; the right arm is in a sling.   Bodhi will have years of recovery.

As of August 13th, he no longer in critical condition.   He remains in stable condition at the hospital awaiting another surgery on his right arm. There will be more in the future.

Bodhi's mom loves him dearly & will do her best to care for him and his eleven year old sister, but she does not have the resources for this kind of care and rehabilitation. Bodhi will need round-the-clock care & his doctor will be 5 hours away,  in Oakland. She is now the solo parent of two children who have just lost their father. Bodhi needs your help.

These Go-Fund me funds are to be used only for Bodhi's medical and rehabilitative expenses that are NOT covered by insurance.

Bodhi's will see the orthopedist on the 23rd, rescheduled from the 9th. As instructed by his orthopedic surgeon, Bodhi's mom has adjusted his brace weekly to increase the degree of extension of his left arm. He reached maximum extension last week and no longer needs the brace. Although he is still not permitted to lift with either arm he has excellent fine motor control and good range of motion. Will a miracle occur and our boy regain total use of both arms?

Not much to post for the weekly update. Bodhi is having a tough time with his limitations. Due to the risk to him of falling, he spends most of his time at home. With his friends and sister in school all day, he is one bored little boy. I mean, even Bodhi can't play video games 16 hours a day! Celeste is trying to be creative with physical activity but it's challenging because of his restrictions.

Celeste and Steven are busy planning Gannon's memorial to be held next month. It will be an oppotunity for Celeste, the kids, and Gannon's parents to spend time with his Blue Lake community.
