On August 3rd, eight year old Bodhi was severely injured in an automobile accident.  Tragically his father, Gannon Rogers and the family dog, Kodi, were killed instantly.

Bodhi's bowel was perforated, his liver punctured, his left elbow broken, his right arm shattered & almost torn off, and he was bleeding internally when a good Samaritan found the wrecked car and contacted the police.  First responders did not expect Bodhi to survive the transport to the hospital.

After being medivaced out, and many hours of surgery, the surgeons were able to save Bodhi life. They did the best they could to save his right arm and it appears they were successful. His left arm was broken in three places and is in a cast; the right arm is in a sling.   Bodhi will have years of recovery.

As of August 13th, he no longer in critical condition.   He remains in stable condition at the hospital awaiting another surgery on his right arm. There will be more in the future.

Bodhi's mom loves him dearly & will do her best to care for him and his eleven year old sister, but she does not have the resources for this kind of care and rehabilitation. Bodhi will need round-the-clock care & his doctor will be 5 hours away,  in Oakland. She is now the solo parent of two children who have just lost their father. Bodhi needs your help.

These Go-Fund me funds are to be used only for Bodhi's medical and rehabilitative expenses that are NOT covered by insurance.

Bodhi, clowning around as usual!

Bodhi appears to have recovered from his December surgery.  He has returned to school, happy to see his friends again.

Due to severe weather conditions his scheduled orthopedic appointment for early February had to be postponed until early April. I'll post an update after that appointment.

Bodhi continues to adjust to his limitations.  His spirits remain high most of the time. Bodhi has an optimistic attitude and can be quite the comic. He keeps everyone around him upbeat with his sunny attitude.

The jewelry urn hanging around his neck contains some of his dad's ashes. Bodhi and his family will be dealing with that loss for a long time.

Thank you all for your continued prayers and support. Bodhi and family greatly appreciate your interest.

Bodhi saw the surgeon for a follow up just after the holidays. The doctor said that Bodhi had healed very well and that he was allowed to go swimming and could even ride his bike. He will need to be monitored to make sure that things "keep flowing" and that he doesn't have any discomfort in his lower abdomen. He will see the doctor again in late March.

His next schedule appointment is in early February with the orthopedic doctor. Although he was released by the orthopedist to return to school in November, his December surgery prevented him from doing so. Now that he's been cleared by both doctors, he has returned to school full-time. He has also been cleared for playground activities, although he doesn't have much strength in his right arm due to the amount of damage the bicep sustained.

Overall, very good news!
