Bobi O'Neill Travel/Living Expenses

I am requesting financial help, for travel and living expenses. Most of you know that my Mother is a multiple organ transplant recipient (5 different organs) from 2005. This March will be her 12th anniversary as a survivor. Unfortunately back in mid-January our family was stricken with a stomach virus that affected her severely. She is suffering from a stricture or blockage within her lower intestine causing distension and the inability to pass anything regularly. She spent a week at Jackson Memorial in Miami, Fl. and then had to be transferred to UPMC Montifore Hospital in Pittsburgh, PA., where her transplant team and coordinator could provide better care.

   In order to make the trip up there we had to contract an air ambulance service which was not covered by either her insurance or Medicare. The cost was $20,192 and had to be put on one of her credit cards. Also my sister, Tanya, had to charge a one-way flight up there in order to support our Mother with any additional needs she may have. Currently Tanya is not receiving a paycheck and her Family Medical Leave is about to expire at the end of February. She has been utilizing mom’s credit cards to stay at a family house which is accumulating in cost and soon will max out mom’s credit cards. Tanya must return to work so she doesn’t lose her job or insurance/medical benefits, so I have taken FMLA from my work and will be relieving Tanya at the end of the month. Unfortunately I only have a couple of weeks of paid leave on the books and then I will not be receiving a paycheck. We are asking for any financial help or donations for assistance with travel and living expenses while staying at the family house. I don’t like asking for money but our family is at a point where it will soon be necessary and any amount or financial help will be greatly and humbly appreciated.

   Mom will be having surgery on Thursday Feb 23rd in attempt to repair the stricture. Know that our family along with our Christ Fellowship church family have been fervently praying for mom’s health and financial situation. If you know my mom’s past then you know her Faith remains strong and the Lord has blessed her with the strength to endure. She has been strong in Faith and has been a blessing to many, she now needs your help and blessings in order for us to continue to aid in caring for her.
