DiJanai Williams was born in Los Angeles, California.
DiJanai (#32) a 5'9" Guard, was a phenomenal athlete in the California High School Girl's Basketball arena. She played her junior year with the Valley View High School Eagles in Moreno Valley.
She transferred to the J.W. North High School Huskies in Riverside, where she completed her senior year.
Entering the 2014-15 season, Williams was named a Preseason All-CIF player. She was very highly scouted by several colleges.
After graduation from high school on June 11, 2015 DiJanai, (the first of her siblings to attend college) chose Coastal Carolina University, where she received a full Basketball Scholarship.
On September 1, 2015 DiJanai had major surgery to remove an ovarian tumor. The doctors told her mom, Karen Butler, 'the surgery was successful, we removed all of the tumor'. DJ then went back to school after a short recovery period.
After testing the tumor, the doctors informed her that there was low grade malignancy and fluid had leaked into her abdominal cavity during the surgery.
She was rushed back to California to begin a round of preventive chemotherapy. Which began on October 2nd.

Her family has created a Go Fund Me account to help pay for current
medical bills not covered under her current insurance plan. Medical bills yet to be incurred for future followup treatment in both California and South Carolina. The impending 24-hour care necessary to bring her back to full health. There are also the every day living expenses of an 18-year-old student, and potential WNBA star.
