The Blue Tacos are Going Global!

Our team is called the Blue Tacos and we are a 1st year Destination Imagination Team made up of 5 homeschooled boys. We are trying to raise money to attend the DI Global Finals in Knoxville, Tenessee where we would be going up against teams from 15 different countries around the world in a creative problem solving competition.
Through our DI experience this year we have learned the importance of hard work, how to think outside the box and problem solve under strict requirements and with tight deadlines, how to work as a team and value everyone's ideas and input and that there is always, always room for improvement! We have spent countless hours over the last 7 months preparing our challenge solution and practicing instant problem solving techniques to prepare for these competitions.
We were shocked to see that our hard work paid off when we made it to the State Tournament and then qualified for the Global Finals, but even more shocked when we found out it was going to cost us $4000 to compete! This is just for the registration fee alone, not including any other travel expenses. We know that this is a crazy amount of money but we have worked so hard to make it this far, we don't want to give up now.
Most teams are supported by big school districts that have been doing this for years and can help them raise funds. We are just 3 families that came together to form a team. We didn't know what to expect and we had no idea it would be so expensive. You should have heard it when the announcer called our name at the State Tournament at CMU. His exact words were, "OH MY GOSH!...Holly Homeschool." (That's our registered name but we like to go by the Blue Tacos). Anyway, we thought he was going to faint because he was so surprised to see that our little team had actually placed. We knew we were the underdogs and that made it even more exciting! No one expected David to beat Goliath either, but with God all things are possible!
We need to raise money fast in order to make it to the Finals at the end of May. However, we are not asking you to give us something for nothing. That's not how we work. We'd love to say that we will pay you back but we are just a bunch of kids that are too young to get a high paying job. Since we can't pay you back we are commited to "paying it forward" instead. For every $10 that is donated to help our team we will commit to 1 man hour of community service over the next year. If we reach our goal that means 400 hours of service going back into the community! You won't just be helping us you will be helping hundreds of others over the next year as well.
If you will honor us with a donation. We will honor you by working hard. We will compete with integrity. We will respect all of the adults and other kids we meet from all around the world. We will not compromise our values for the sake of winning. We will work as a team to do our very best to make you proud!
We would be so thankful for any amount you can give! Every penny counts. We will also accept bottles/cans or paid jobs like yard work. Please help the Blue Tacos take the world by storm at the 2016 Global Finals!
