Blue Brother, Soldier, MC Family Diagnosed with Cancer ~ Needs Our Help
One of our own has been diagnosed with cancer & when a member of the blue family is down, the rest of us are there to pick them up!
Troy (TJ) Flores has been with the Shreveport Police Department nearly 17 years. He spent many years on patrol, but has been assigned to the traffic unit as a motorcycle officer for the last seven years and also serves the unit as a motorcycle instructor.
TJ’s love for motorcycles is more than just business. In his free time, he rides with the Iron Warriors, a motorcycle club of active & retired law enforcement and firefighters.
TJ not only serves our community, but also serves our country. Currently an Army reservist, and former Marine, TJ has spent more than 30 years serving his country as a soldier.
TJ and his beautiful wife Carmela have five children and three grandchildren. They have lots of life left to live & that’s where we come in!
Diagnosed with High Grade Small Cell Carcinoma of an unknown origin, but metastasized to his spine, bone & lymph nodes, TJ will start treatment Monday, November 5 here in Shreveport, but some of his treatment will be done at MD Anderson in Houston, TX causing unexpected expenses.
TJ has always been a tough guy, very private & has not asked anyone for anything, but some of his friends & blue family have taken the lead & are working on fundraisers! GoFundMe is a start, but we are planning a couple more fundraisers in the coming weeks.
We would appreciate (1) your prayers for him, his wife & family as well as the medical team caring for him, (2) please donate as much as you can, as often as you can and (3) share this GoFundMe page with your friends and family, especially fellow police officers, soldiers & motorcycle family.
