Konbit Bibliyotek Site Soley (https://www.konbitbibliyoteksitesoley.org/ ) is an initiative to build a modern public library in the heart of Cite Soleil, Haiti's largest ghetto. It is completely community-led and transparent, and has so far mobilized over 4,900 people to contribute over $180,000 and 17,000 books. In July of 2018, Konbit Bibliyotek has launched the Block Challenge, encouraging people to give cement blocks to help with the next phase of building. If you can't come to Cite Soleil to drop off blocks of your own, you can contribute to this page and we will buy the concrete blocks! A #30 block costs about $1 USD, and our goal is 15,000 blocks (as of the start of this page, we already have 500 on site!). Come and join the konbit...
