Blessing Bags For the Homeless

Hi friends!

As many of you know I started the Stop the Panhandling website here in the Roanoke Valley to put a stop to those that scam everyday citizens for drugs, alcohol or simply to live a fulltime lifestyle off your money, all tax free.

With that, there ARE some people that panhandle and they are truly homeless or in need.

While I run the panhandling site, MOST people don't know that I make and give out Blessing Bags to homesless people here in Roanoke.

Several people have been asking me about my month self funded blessing bag program and how they can help. Each month I take about $100 (if I can afford it; usually its about $75 to $80 at the moment but Im doing it myself) and I buy things at the Dollar Tree or Walmart that homeless or needy people could use and I make my rounds by giving them out each month.

Currently, I'm able to make about 15-20 bags each month but I can't do it alone. I'm asking for your help to fund the program and turn it into a self funded citizen driven fund rather than all out of my own pocket.

Some items change each month but may include:

Hygiene products for women
Band-Aids
Deodorant
Snack
Mint or Gum
Travel toothpaste and brush
Info sheet on Panhandling and other places that can help
Sometimes a $5 gift card to eat something
Tissues
Bottle water
Gloves  or hat (winter time)
Pair of clean socks

(Everything has been marked through with UPC code so people cant take it back and get money or credit on these items. )

I would ask that you either donate a few dollars here OR if you want simply visit the website and click on a banner ad once a month. Either way, it helps cover these ongoing costs that I have been doing here in the Roanoke Valley. 

My goal is about $100 a month for the next 12 months to make about 15-20 bags a month.

If I can go beyond the goal then I can make blessing family bags for more homeless as well as needy families in the area too which  will include canned goods, small toys for children and the like too.

While I want to put a stop to panhandling (more so the scammers that abuse panhandling) I do want to help where I can.

Even a buck or two will help and I will be documentating everything that is rasied, funds will only be used for the blessing bags that I'n doing.
