It's been four years since my last full studio album, Desperate Times. A lot has happened since then, and I've begun to process through it all and conceptualize a brand new album experience called "Bleed Out."

The story behind this album is pretty intense.

Six years ago, I was nearly killed by a drunk driver. She was going the wrong way on a freeway offramp in LA. I broke my knee, my arm, my back, my spleen was removed, they had to solder my liver back together, my face was ripped apart, I needed a blood transfusion . . . I spent the next four years after that spiraling down into drug addiction and suicidal depression, trying to stay alive while I wrote and recorded all the music I could. At age twenty seven, after a failed suicide attempt, I was admitted to Stanford Psychiatric Ward in Palo Alto. I was put back on meds, and I started doing yoga in the ward. When I got out, I had to stay sober and healthy, and I began to practice yoga and put together a home recording studio.

My newest album "Bleed Out" deals with the aftermath of the crash; from my drug addiction to my sobriety, from my self-loathing to my gradual self acceptance. It's a deeply introspective, dark and personal album that I began to conceptualize after Stanford. Many of these songs have been with me for a while, and just never got completed until now. This album covers a lot of ground stylistically: from dark and driving blues to latin infused punk rock, from grunge and metal to mellow acoustic grooves. I wanted to get my friends and family involved in the making of "Bleed Out," because it really means so much to me.

I'm working with a drummer, Austin Vidonn, on the album. We've already raised the necessary amount needed to record the album (!), but we've recieved a lot of outreach from people that didn't get a chance to contribute the first time around. So this campaign is for those who'd like to be involved before it's too late.

The main thing with this Kickstarter for Bleed Out is that I want my friends and family to be a part of this album. I have so many people who support my music, and I want to give them a chance to really be involved in this next step in my musical career.
